Who is Rocky

Rocky was my first dog, an unwanted six month old puppy from the UK who entered my life when I was just 19. From the moment he arrived, Rocky became my best friend.

Over the 12 years we shared together, Rocky gave me comfort, unconditional love, and unwavering companionship. He stood by my side through every high and low. At one point, I became very unwell , bedbound, unable to work, and struggling with depression. During that dark time, Rocky truly lived up to his name: he was my Rock.

​

He gave me a reason to try , to get out of bed, to smile, to laugh. And when I later stepped into the world of animal rescue, Rocky was right there with me, greeting every broken soul who came through our doors. We called him our “nanny dog”, because that’s exactly what he was. He would climb into bed with frightened puppies to comfort them, lie close to scared dogs to reassure them, and offer a calming, protective presence to every animal in need.

Rocky wasn’t just my companion, he was a rescuer too. And his legacy lives on in every life we save through Rocky Road Rescue.
