Preparing for your new Dog

Now all of the excitement is setting in, you may have already started shopping for your new arrival.

Heres a basic checklist of all of the things we believe will help your dog settle.

  • Food and water bowls

  • Food (We recommend Chappie to start with, then move on to dry/wet)

  • Collar

  • Slip lead

  • Harness (Ensure this is fitted correctly to your dog)

  • ID tag with your phone number, address and postcode (this is a UK legal requirement)

  • Crate (ESSENTIAL FOR THE ARRIVAL OF YOUR PET)

  • Dog bed

  • Blankets

  • Doggy shampoo and conditioner (flea shampoo is great to start with)

  • Nail clippers

  • Canine toothbrush and toothpaste

  • Brush or comb (depends on your pet’s coat length and type)

  • Non-toxic cleanser

  • Enzymatic odor neutralizer

  • Plastic poop bags (biodegradable ones are best)

  • Absorbent house-training pads (if necessary)

  • Variety of toys (a ball, rope, chew toy and puzzle toy are good starts)

  • Variety of treats (we advise AGAINST raw hide treats, and never give your dog cooked bones)

  • Probiotic vitamins (Pro-Kolin is great - helpful to always have this in the house)

  • Flea and Worm treatment

A SLIP LEAD IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE ARRIVAL OF YOUR DOG. CRATES CAN ALSO BE USED.

Preparing for your new Cat

Now all of the excitement is setting in, you may have already started shopping for your new arrival.

Heres a basic checklist of all of the things we believe will help your cat settle.

  • Cat carrier

  • Food and water bowls

  • Collar

  • ID tag

  • Cat bed – be advised your cat will probably find its own spot which more than likely won’t be in its lovely new bed! Try to resist the urge to buy multiple beds until you meet your cat and find out where he/she prefers to settle.

  • Brush or comb

  • Prokolin

  • Litter tray

  • Flea and worm treatment

  • Cat toys that will mentally stimulate them

YOU WILL NEED A CRATE FOR THE ARRIVAL OF YOUR CAT
