Update on Puppy Travel and Neutering Policy – Effective March 2023

Since March 2023, we have revised our policy regarding the transport of puppies from Romania. For the foreseeable future, we will no longer be bringing puppies under six months of age into the UK.

Although UK regulations allow puppies to travel from four months of age, in practice, APHA/DEFRA can exercise discretion and may reject travel documentation if they believe a puppy appears younger than stated. Unfortunately, this creates a significant risk of denied entry, which we cannot take. The safety and welfare of our animals is—and always will be—our top priority.

As a result of this policy, all dogs in our care will now be neutered before travelling to the UK.

The same applies to our cats. Neutering will typically take place from four months of age, as cats in catteries often come into season early and may begin mating at just four months old.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we prioritise the well-being of every animal in our care.
