Are you ready to adopt?
We are delighted to welcome you to our community and appreciate your interest in learning more about, and potentially adopting, a Romanian rescue dog.
Before submitting an application, we kindly ask that you carefully consider the responsibility involved. Each of our dogs deserves a lifelong commitment from their adoptive family, and we are dedicated to ensuring the best possible match for both the dog and their new home.
What you must consider before applying:
-
Are pets permitted in your current home or rental agreement?
-
Can you comfortable afford the ongoing costs of dog ownership, including food, vetinary care, insurance, training and essential supplies?
-
Do you have enough time in your daily routine to provide your dog with the exercise, socialisation and training they require?
-
Are you prepared to commit to consistent and patient training?
-
If you already have a dog, have you consider the time, effort and patience required to successfully introduce a new dog into your home?
Romanian rescue dogs often come from difficult backgrounds and require extra care, understanding and commitment. We strong encourage you to research Romanian rescue dogs thoroughly to ensure you're fully prepared to meet their exact needs.
Please do not choose a Romanian rescue dog because their adoption fees are lower than purchasing a dog or out of a sense of sympathy.
These dogs often come from challenging backgrounds and require significant time, patience and ongoing care. Proper training is essential to help them adjust and thrive in a home environment. This may include attending puppy classes, socialisation sessions or even one to one work with a qualified behaviourist.
Adopting a Romanian rescue dog is a meaningful and rewarding commitment but it must be made for the right reasons, with full awareness of the responsibility involved.
That being said, there isn othing more rewarding than knowing you have saved a dog from a life of hardship - or even certain death.
Due to the conditions many Romanian rescue dogs have endured, they may initially struggle to adapt to a home environment. They may be unfamiliar with everyday household noises, unaccustomed to walking on a lead, and may be fearful or reluctant to engage with people at first.
Some dogs carry emotional trauma from their past experiences and will require sensitive handling, patience and plenty of time to build trust and confidence. With the right care and understanding, however, they can blossom into loving, loyal companions.
Did you know?
Some of our dogs may arrive with old, healed injuries or genetic conditions, such as "Queen Anne" legs. These issues are relatively common, often resulting from malnutrition during early development. In most cases, they are purely cosmetic and do not require medical treatment.
All of our dogs are full vaccinated to a high standard before travelling to the UK. While some UK veterinarians may recommend additionals vaccinations, this decision is entirely at your discretion. Every dog undergoes through health checks and is tested for, and vaccinated against, a range of diseases prior to travel, ensuring they are fit and ready for adoption.
Please keep in mind that our dogs are not perfect - they may arrive shy, nervour or fearful. All they need is time, patience and a loving environment and they all have the potential to grow into loyal, happy companions and find their rightful place in your home.
